Who am I?
My real name is Kinjal Waghela but in my world of design, I go by the name Navchitra. I am from Surat, India. When I am not designing, I am watching YouTube videos. Yes, I love YouTube and can keep on watching stuff the whole day.
Navchitra is a combination of two Sanskrit word "NAV" and "CHITRA". "NAV" means number nine which represents quality of nine gems and "CHITRA" means drawing.
What do I do?
I design a lot of things ranging from the Logo designing & branding to UI/UX in XD. I also love creating digital illustrations and doing hand lettering.
Why do I do?
I did my bachelors in Information Technology. However, I loved to draw and design since childhood - I used to make Solar System and Planets in MS Paint. I decided to convert my hobby into profession after working as an Android developer for almost a year. I have been designing professionally for more than two years and I am glad I made the switch.
How do I do?
My Design Process
Understand
I always start by asking a lot of questions and can be annoying sometimes. 😬 I always believe that the more I know about your product, the better I will be able to design.
Research
Once I get hold of all the requirements, I do thorough research like the design styles that will suit your product, what the competitors are doing, what will work best for you, etc.
Design
This is the phase where I shine. 😇 I start by designing a lot of sketches & generally end up finalizing 2-3 designs which are then digitalized keeping all the nitty-gritty things in mind.
Deliver
The final step is the delivery of designs and all the related assets. Once the designs are delivered, I get your feedback, reiterate, and try to make them as perfect as possible.
